Toch zijn rechters van het Hooggerechtshof tegenwoordig niet gebonden aan een bindende ethische code, terwijl veel rechters op staatsniveau gedwongen worden geld in te zamelen bij speciale belangengroepen om zitting te nemen, of worden geselecteerd via een oneerlijk proces. Common Cause pleit voor transparantie en eerlijkheid bij het kiezen van rechters en het vormgeven van onze rechtbanken.
