Hoewel het wetsvoorstel een aantal van de geuite bezwaren aanpakt \u2013 en nu een uitzondering maakt voor mensen met een Green Card of een militaire status \u2013 discrimineert de wetgeving nog steeds op basis van nationaliteit. Dit is in strijd met de bestaande wetten betreffende eigendomsrechten, een eerlijk proces en gelijke bescherming. De Verenigde Staten zijn een land van immigranten. Voor degenen onder ons wiens families al lange tijd in dit land wonen, is het moeilijk om zich in te leven in de discriminatie die zij hebben ondervonden. Soms heeft ons land in het verleden gehandeld uit angst en onze idealen niet waargemaakt, maar dat betekent niet dat we achteruit moeten gaan. Elke nieuwe wet moet onze toewijding weerspiegelen om elkaar gelijk te behandelen, ongeacht ras, etniciteit of nationaliteit.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bovendien definieert het wetsvoorstel &quot;kritieke infrastructuur&quot; zo breed dat het bijna alle essenti\u00eble nutsvoorzieningen en communicatiesystemen omvat. Het verkleinen van de uitsluitingszone van 25 mijl naar 10 mijl lijkt een stap in de goede richting, maar 10 mijl omvat nog steeds een veel te groot deel van Ohio. Belangrijker nog, er is geen bewijs dat de verboden op eigendom in Sub.
