(Read the 5\/25\/2022 Ohio Supreme Court decision <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.ohio.gov\/rod\/docs\/pdf\/0\/2022\/2022-Ohio-1727.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.)<\/span>\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/ohio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2022\/05\/22422-GA-Maps.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1604\" height=\"988\" \/>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There\u2019s really no mystery as to what happened. The Republicans on the Ohio Redistricting Commission had a strategy and they stuck to it: refuse bipartisanship; work in secret; ignore the Ohio Constitution; reject mountains of informed and heartfelt public input; repeatedly submit gerrymandered maps; run out the clock. Their strategy worked well for their party. Not so well for Ohio voters, the Ohio Constitution, and democracy itself.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There\u2019s no hiding that this is a terrible outcome and it hurts. We hear, feel, and share your frustration and outrage! Despite heroic and selfless efforts by<\/span><b> so many<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2014we have been out-foxxed this time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But the fight for fair maps does indeed continue.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lawsuits are ongoing over the congressional map<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We always knew this would be a decades-long journey<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We won in the court of public opinion<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We have a kick-ass corps of fair districts volunteers (that\u2019s you)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We will continue to organize, strategize, and act<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Map-making will begin again in 2023 [?]<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019re already turning our thoughts on how to improve the process.
