WHY: President Trump declared a crackdown on crime and a “state of emergency” in Washington, DC federalizing the local police, against the wishes of DC’s elected leaders and residents. Violent crime is at a 30 year low. Gov. DeWine has described sending 150 Ohio National Guard members to DC as the “right thing to do.”
