Common Cause Ohio Joins 80 Ohio Organizations in ‘Ohio Stands with Immigrants’ Effort
Common Cause Ohio joins in solidarity with more than 2,500 individuals and 80 other advocacy organizations from 69 counties across the state in support of immigrants who call Ohio home.
Collectively, we are Ohioans who represent a diverse coalition of organizations, institutions, communities, and houses of faith who are witnessing the terror that anti-immigrant Trump policies are wreaking across our communities. We are asking our city and county elected officials to act on values that our cities and counties have long claimed to have.

We affirm that migration is a basic act of being human. People move — whether for freedom, safety, opportunity, or a mix of both — every day. And immigrants are beloved members of Ohio families and communities. Ohio is their home. Our state is made better, stronger and more vibrant by the countless contributions of immigrants and refugees.
We are asking local officials to commit to making their municipalities safe places for all immigrants to thrive.
Migration is a basic act of being human. It doesn’t matter whether you came from Kansas or Kenya, Minnesota or Mexico, South Carolina or South Korea — Ohio is home now. We call on our elected officials to lead from a place of compassion and common sense.
