For decades, our state has suffered from gerrymandered voting districts, with politicians in the legislature dividing communities and undermining the right of North Carolina voters to choose their representatives. That must not happen again this year,\u201d said\u00a0Bob Phillips, executive director of Common Cause NC.<\/strong> \u201cThe districts drawn in the coming weeks will affect our state for the next decade, impacting everything from voting rights, funding for schools and other essential services. It\u2019s crucial that all North Carolinians speak out right now and demand fair voting maps.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe Raleigh billboard is part of a statewide effort by Common Cause NC to educate, engage and empower all North Carolinians to speak out and demand fair voting maps.
