New online tool helps NC voters find out if their ballot is challenged by Jefferson Griffin
In a shocking scheme, Griffin is attempting to overturn his election defeat by unfairly throwing out the ballots of 60,000 North Carolinians, many of whom may be unaware that their vote is being challenged by him
RALEIGH – A new online tool can help North Carolinians see if their name is among the 60,000 voters whose ballots are being unjustly challenged by losing NC Supreme Court candidate Jefferson Griffin in his shameful ploy to overturn his election defeat.
North Carolinians can go to ccnc.me/GriffinList to enter a search and see if Griffin is trying to cancel their vote. The new online tool was created as a free public service by Apex Town Council member Terry Mahaffey.
“We thank Terry for making this useful tool available to the public,” said Bob Phillips, Executive Director of the nonpartisan voting rights group Common Cause North Carolina, which has been raising awareness about Griffin’s outrageous ploy. “We encourage media outlets to promote this search tool as a way to help people find out if they’re among the thousands of North Carolina voters being unjustly challenged by Jefferson Griffin.”
Griffin is asking the NC Supreme Court to do the unthinkable: throw away the lawful ballots of 60,000 North Carolinians and overturn a settled election.
“Griffin is trying to change the rules of the election after the fact and defy the will of voters, all in a desperate attempt to give himself a seat on our state’s highest court. That’s disgusting,” Phillips said. “What’s more, many of the 60,000 people being challenged by Griffin may have no idea their ballot is under threat.”
To promote awareness of Griffin’s scheme, Common Cause North Carolina is conducting a statewide public service campaign that includes lifting up the voices of affected voters.
