This week, Republican politicians in the legislature betrayed the people of North Carolina by imposing discriminatory, gerrymandered congressional districts that especially harm Black voters.

This is a shameful moment for our state. But we won’t give up. Our fight to defeat gerrymandering continues.

As we carry on this important work together, here’s a video message to inspire us all: at 91, former Congresswoman Eva Clayton traveled to the legislature this week to speak powerfully against this gerrymandered map and to stand up for her fellow North Carolinians.

As Congresswoman Clayton tells us, “Let’s stand up. Speak up for democracy. We need you.”
