Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/div>\r\nWith the Election Protection Program, voting rights groups are\u00a0eliminating\u00a0obstacles to voting and making elections more efficient by:\r\n<div>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Ensuring voters have access to the ballot box to make their vote count<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Providing voters with necessary voting information and answering their questions<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Quickly\u00a0identifying\u00a0and correcting any problems at polling places<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Gathering information to illustrate potential barriers to voting.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/div>\r\nVoters who have any questions or have any issues\u00a0casting\u00a0their ballot should contact 866-OUR-VOTE, the nonpartisan voter protection hotline.\r\n\r\n\u201cVoting is our right and our civic duty, and we should be able to cast our ballot without fear of discrimination. At the federal level we are still working to restore protections of the\u00a0<em>Voting Rights Act<\/em>\u00a0gutted by the Supreme Court, with the\u00a0<em>John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act<\/em>. Exercising our right to vote is important in every election, but especially now. We deserve a mayor who will fight for New Yorkers\u2019 rights, and by voting in the upcoming election we can send a message that New Yorkers are up for the fight. With the right mayor, with the right leadership, we can protect our most vulnerable, and build a city where prosperity is shared and no one is left behind.
