Following Clement's\u00a0recommendation<\/a>\u00a0that the case against Adams should be dismissed, the federal government submitted sealed exhibits to the court that underscore the need for more transparency.\r\n\r\n\"The DOJ's effort to submit sealed evidence criticizing prosecutors in Mr. Adams' case only undermines the legitimacy of a potential dismissal. While the Court may be limited in its ability\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0to dismiss the case, it must ensure that the process is transparent and not clouded by accusations of prosecutorial misconduct. In absence of a trial, New Yorkers deserve to have all of the relevant information about Mr. Adams, who is actively running for re-election.
