Common Cause/NY strongly urges the commission to devote most, if not all, of its focus on an essential issue that cannot effectively be addressed piecemeal and which is too detailed and politically fraught to be taken up in the normal course by the City Council: the reworking of the city’s land use procedures.

Our goal in preparing this report was to examine selected counties across the country whose experience with early voting provides what we hope will be helpful and relevant information for those considering whether to adopt early voting in New York and other Atlantic region states.
