Today, Common Cause/NY Executive Director, Susan Lerner, testified before the New York City Council about pay raises and related reforms.

Common Cause/NY, Citizens Union, and NYPIRG issued a joint statement in anticipation of the upcoming vote to raise salaries for members of the New York City Council.

In response to Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's State of the State address, Common Cause/NY issued the following statement:

Today the Mayor sent a letter to the Speaker of the New York City Council approving a salary increase in exchange for eliminating outside income.

One week after Governor Cuomo's State of the State and budget address, Common Cause/NY, Citizens Union, and NYPIRG reacted to his proposals for ethics, elections, and oversight in an open letter.

On the first day of the 2016 legislative session, Common Cause/NY, NYPIRG, Citizens Union are calling for all 213 lawmakers, and the Governor, to sign a "Clean Conscience Pledge" to address the political crime wave in Albany.
