Tell Governor Hochul: Keep Our Communities Together

Just days into his presidency, Trump is already making good on his plans to carry out mass deportation raids targeting immigrant families across the country, including right here in New York.

This is cruel. It's wrong. Yet, Governor Hochul’s office announced intentions to cooperate with federal officials to detain and deport some immigrants.

The governor must step up to protect our communities – not cave and cower to the federal government’s attempts to mass criminalize immigrants and tear us apart.

Just days into his presidency, Trump is already making good on his plans to carry out mass deportation raids targeting immigrant families across the country, including right here in New York.

This is cruel. It’s wrong. Yet, Governor Hochul’s office announced intentions to cooperate with federal officials to detain and deport some immigrants, including those who are even suspected of unofficially crossing the border.

Let’s be clear – the vast majority of immigrant New Yorkers are integral members of our community who have not committed any crimes, regardless of whether they came through an official port of entry.

The governor must step up to protect our communities – not cave and cower to the federal government’s attempts to mass criminalize immigrants and tear us apart.

Call Governor Hochul and demand she take an unequivocal stand to keep families together and communities strong.

1. Dial Governor Hochul. Here’s her number: 518-474-8390

“Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m calling from [TOWN/CITY] to urge Governor Hochul to take a strong and moral stand against President Trump’s hateful deportation raids.

Immigrants are a vital part of my community, no matter how they came into the country – through an approved point of entry or not. I’m fearful that the Governor’s willingness to cooperate with the federal government’s raids and attempts to mass criminalize immigrants will tear my community apart.

I’m disturbed to see Governor Hochul cave to the President. I expect her to step up and assert New York values to keep communities strong and families together. Thank you.”
