Starting in June 2026, these voters will be able to request a ballot from a major party without having to change their voter registration status.\r\n\r\nIn 2023, the New Mexico Voting Rights Act, which includes the Native American Voting Rights Act, was signed into law after a hard-fought campaign by Common Cause New Mexico and our partner organizations. These reforms will protect our frontline election workers, help ensure accurate voter rolls, improve election security and accessibility, and provide more protections for voters.
