COMMUNITY EFFORT TO IMPROVE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC FINANCING LAUNCHED

WHO: A group of community election advocates, including Common Cause New Mexico

WHAT: “Democracy Dollars” voter signatures submitted as first step to putting in place an improved city public financing system on the November ballot.

WHEN: Tuesday, July 31st, 10:00 am

WHERE: Albuquerque Civic Plaza

WHY: The goals of the program are to allow voters themselves to direct public funding to the city candidates of their choice.

VISUALS: Photo opportunities of speakers, signatures and campaign logo available.

INTERVIEWS: Local officials, community members and election advocates will be available to answer media questions.
