Democracy School
Common Cause Minnesota hosts a series of workshops and seminars under our Democracy School series. Our goal with this series is to demystify various aspects of American politics and government. We believe that understanding how to interact with power helps us maximize our collective political agency.
Party Structure & The People’s Agenda
In April 2024, Common Cause Minnesota invited the Democratic and Republican Parties to join us for a discussion on their respective parties. We discussed each party's structure and how individuals can find opportunities for involvement to create party environments that our communities align with.
Navigating the Legislative Website
In February 2024 we hosted a seminar on navigating Minnesota’s legislative website. This was an in depth look on how to use the website to leverage advocacy tactics. During this event, we covered a variety of topics ranging from looking up elected officials and legislative staff, to tracking a bill, to using the legislative website to be an effective advocate.

In this training we covered the structure of school boards, heard from a school board member, and discussed effective advocacy tactics.
