2025 House State Government Finance & Policy Committee
February 27th, 2025
In this hearing legislators will discuss:
- HF550 (Torkelson) Bipartisan Redistricting Commission established, principles to be used in adopting legislative and congressional districts established, and constitutional amendment proposed
- HF412 (Myers) Members of the legislative committees on education policy and education finance required to observe a teacher or administrator each year, house and senate required to adopt rules, and report required
- HF796 (Myers) Members of public safety policy and finance committees required to participate in ride alongs with law enforcement or fire departments, and adoption of legislative rules required.
- HF140 (Bahner) State-funded county and city cybersecurity grant program established, report required, and money appropriated.
2025 Elections Finance and Government Operations Committee
February 24th, 2025
In this hearing legislators will discuss:
- HF438 (Skraba) Crane Lake Water and Sanitary District permitted to have a three-member board of managers
- HF1058 (Skraba) North Koochiching sanitary sewer board composition modified
- HF286 (Perryman) Local units of government authorized to conduct criminal background checks under certain circumstances
- HF550 (Torkelson) Bipartisan Redistricting Commission established, principles to be used in adopting legislative and congressional districts established, and constitutional amendment proposed
February 27th, 2025
In this hearing legislators will discuss:
- HF1329 (Koznick) Metropolitan Council governance modified, and Transportation Advisory Board eliminated
- HF931 (Nash) Requirements related to certain mailings containing an absentee ballot application or sample ballot sent by or on behalf of a committee or other private organization provided
- HF1253 (Davis) Requirements related to the return of absentee ballots on election day modified, and absentee voting period modified for certain voters
- HF124 (Berg) Acceptance of certain gifts related to a line of duty death of a public safety officer allowed
- HF977 (Freiberg) Money transferred to the voting operations, technology, and election resources account.
