Voters can cast a ballot in-person or by mail. Common Cause Massachusetts first <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/massachusetts\/our-work\/expand-voting-rights-election-integrity\/early-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">championed<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> expanding early voting in 2014, broadening the time Massachusetts voters can cast ahead of Election Day.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"none\">Nationally in 2020, the electorate broke early voting records with nearly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2021\/04\/what-methods-did-people-use-to-vote-in-2020-election.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">70%<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> of voters casting a ballot by mail and\/or before Election Day. Breaking that figure down, about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2021\/04\/what-methods-did-people-use-to-vote-in-2020-election.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">43%<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> of voters cast ballots by mail, and another <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2021\/04\/what-methods-did-people-use-to-vote-in-2020-election.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">26%<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> voted in person ahead of Election Day.
