I am Michael J. Goff.

Fair redistricting is important to me because…

“Gerrymandering, the lack of fair redistricting, and the extreme polarization they cause are at the root of so many maladies now eroding our democracy. By creating polarized Congressional and legislative districts, gerrymandering under-represents minority party voters and independents in many of our states, and has led to a U.S. Congress that today is divided between the extreme right and the extreme left, with almost no moderates and almost no room for bi-partisan compromise. The U.S. House of Representatives was designed by the founding fathers to be closest to the people, to represent the people, but that certainly is no longer true, and gerrymandering and the lack of fair redistricting is the main culprit.”
