Election Protection

In the state of Maryland, individuals with felony convictions are eligible to vote once they are no longer incarcerated.

To celebrate National Voter Registration Day – September 22, 2020 – MOM’s Organic Markets is hosting voter information tables at various locations, in partnership with Common Cause and the League of Women Voters. Voter registration forms will be available, as well as information about options for voting in the November 3rd election.

Public health and elections experts held a press conference on July 29, to urge Gov. Hogan to reconsider his plan for the November 3 general election.

At Common Cause, we are extremely disappointed that Gov. Hogan has disregarded the recommendations of local elections officials. The COVID-19 pandemic is not over and most likely won't be over in November.

Unfortunately, instead of recommending a plan that would promote social distancing by sending every eligible voter a mail ballot, protecting early vote, and ensuring there are enough polling locations open to prevent long lines, the State Board's recommendations actually create more confusion, bureaucracy, and fewer options for voters.

Primary election day is tomorrow, June 2nd -- and the hype around this election is notably different from elections past. Because of COVID-19, we are all looking at the process of voting a little differently. But there are plenty of options for voters who want to make their voices heard in the Primary Election. There are also plenty of reasons why voting in this election is just as important as voting in all other elections.
