Some examples include referencing \u201cthe Democrat-led government shutdown\u201d on websites for the Centers for Disease Control, attacking the president\u2019s opponents via mass emails to government employees,\u00a0and more.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cPresident Trump and his administration have proven time after time that they care more about a one-party agenda than working people,\u201d says\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Virginia Kase\u00a0Solom\u00f3n, president and CEO of Common Cause<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">. \u201cThis kind of political electioneering is expected on the campaign trail, but seeing it reflected on federal government webpages, where millions of Americans seek vital services and public information, is below the president and a reflection of how far his administration will go to achieve its one-party agenda. We must change our system so that it can adequately insulate itself from these internal partisan attacks.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"none\">Common Cause supports policies that hold the federal government accountable, including stronger protections for the Government Accountability Office, Inspectors General, and the Office of Special Counsel\u2014but incremental reform\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0enough. The Trump Administration\u2019s conduct has exposed deep structural weaknesses in our oversight framework.
