Common Cause is tracking which members of Congress have read, or not read, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian attacks on the 2016 presidential election. 그만큼 new easily searchable “Will Congress Act?” website (willcongressact.org) allows people to see whether their Members have read the report and contact them to ask that they read it if they have not.

Common Cause is urging its 1.2 million members to verify their representatives in Washington have read the findings of the Special Counsel’s team and are not relying on the lies and biased interpretations that have been offered up by those with a vested interest in the public’s perception of the report.

그만큼 Special Counsel’s investigation has already led to hundreds of criminal charges, 37 indictments or guilty pleas, and 5 prison sentences. Numerous additional investigations of possible criminal conduct uncovered by the Special Counsel have been spun off to other prosecutors.

“Russia’s attacks on the United States to sway the 2016 presidential race represent the most significant challenge to our nation and to our democratic system of government since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and 모두 ember에스 of Congress owe it to their constituents to know the facts uncovered by the Special Counsel,” said Common Cause president Karen Hobert Flynn. “Despite the spin from the White House and the Attorney General, the report makes very clear that a hostile foreign nation launched a broad and sophisticated campaign to help elect Donald Trump to the presidency. Further, the criminal conduct by members of the president’s inner circle, his campaign staff, advisors, and members of the administration uncovered by the Special Counsel is unprecedented in our nation’s history. It is not too much to expect embers of Congress to read the full report. Oversight of the executive branch of government is a big part their job description as outlined in the Constitution of the United States.”

Visitors to the Will Congress Act? website can enter their address to see if their representatives in Congress have publicly stated that they have read the Mueller report in full. If their Members have read the report, users can contact them through the site to send a thank you email or tweet or make phone call to those representatives. If users learn their representative have not read the report, or they have not stated it publicly, users can then urge them to do so by email, tweet, or phone call. Users will also be able to see a full list of members of Congress and whether or not they have read the Mueller report, as well as explore by state.
