Media & Technology: Demanding The Truth

Democracy requires an informed public – because the truth still matters, and we all deserve to be heard.

As voters and community members, we all deserve clear, honest information from a variety of sources. But today, profit-driven corporations are shutting down local news outlets, deliberate lies spread like wildfire online, and too many of our stories go unheard. Common Cause is committed to fighting for the truth by countering disinformation, fighting for guardrails on artificial intelligence, defending net neutrality and broadband access, and protecting independent journalism so we can get the facts and make informed decisions for ourselves.
