Media & Technology: Demanding The Truth
Democracy requires an informed public – because the truth still matters, and we all deserve to be heard.
As voters and community members, we all deserve clear, honest information from a variety of sources. But today, profit-driven corporations are shutting down local news outlets, deliberate lies spread like wildfire online, and too many of our stories go unheard.
Common Cause is committed to fighting for the truth by countering disinformation, fighting for guardrails on artificial intelligence, defending net neutrality and broadband access, and protecting independent journalism so we can get the facts and make informed decisions for ourselves.

Tell NBC: Keep Seth Meyers on the air!
A free, independent media is a First Amendment guarantee that’s essential to democracy – helping expose corruption, hold leaders accountable, and inform the public.
NBC and Comcast must hold firm, defend democracy and free speech, and keep Seth Meyers on the air. Don’t surrender to Trump.

Stand with Journalists Defending Press Freedom
We stand with you for defending the truth.
When Pete Hegseth demanded you only report the news he wants you to — and you refused — you protected the public’s right to know.
We support your courage and thank you for reminding those in power they’re here to serve us – not themselves or their billionaire friends.
Your financial support helps us make an impact by holding power accountable and strengthening democracy.
