Time to Wave the Checkered Flag on Mid-Decade Redistricting
Common Cause Indiana is releasing the following statement in response to the office of Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray telling the media the votes are not there for mid-decade redistricting.
“Hoosiers do not want mid-decade redistricting. Thank you to the state senators who are listening and refusing to vote for it,” said Common Cause Indiana Executive Director Julia Vaughn. “Now, let’s wave the checkered flag and end this talk about mid-decade redistricting. Time to make it clear — no special session, no mid-decade redistricting, and no more bullying by the federal government on a policy Hoosiers oppose.”
Both state and national polling show mid-decade redistricting is broadly unpopular with Americans, including Republicans and 2024 Trump voters.
