Elk verkiezingsjaar mobiliseert Common Cause duizenden Election Protection-vrijwilligers om onze mede-Amerikanen te helpen door het stemproces te navigeren en hun stem uit te brengen zonder belemmering, verwarring of intimidatie.\r\n<h3>Het recht om te stemmen en onze stem te laten horen, is fundamenteel voor onze democratie.<\/h3>\r\nIn een tijd waarin veel te veel stemgerechtigde burgers worden ontmoedigd om te stemmen of ten onrechte van de stembus worden weggestuurd, moeten we ons opnieuw toeleggen op het vergroten van de deelname van stemgerechtigde burgers. Maar de afgelopen jaren hebben we een verontrustende toename gezien in het aantal en de omvang van pogingen om de stemmen van tienduizenden Amerikaanse burgers te onderdrukken - soms door middel van illegale, intimiderende praktijken.\r\n\r\n<strong>Je kunt deze gebruiken <a href=\"\/indiana\/nl\/voting-tools\/\">stemhulpmiddelen<\/a> om uw kiezersregistratie te verifi\u00ebren, te controleren of u stemgerechtigd bent, u te registreren om te stemmen, verkiezingsherinneringen te ontvangen en meer.<\/strong>\r\n<h4>Wat wij doen...<\/h4>\r\nWe zullen duizenden vrijwilligers ter plaatse inzetten en een team van juridische experts rekruteren om de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.866ourvote.org\/\">866-OUR-VOTE hulplijn.<\/a>\u00a0Common Cause is een cruciale verdedigingslinie voor kiezers tegen onderdrukkingstactieken, verwarrende wetten, verouderde infrastructuur en andere belemmeringen om zich gehoord te voelen. Bovenal informeren we kiezers over hun rechten, helpen we verkiezingsfunctionarissen problemen in realtime op te lossen en stellen we juridische teams op de hoogte wanneer ingrijpen van de rechtbank nodig is. Per staat plaatsen we getrainde stemopnemers bij stembureaus, met name in gemeenschappen met een geschiedenis van stemproblemen, waar felbevochten races de kans op lange wachtrijen, verwarring en andere complicaties vergroten. We zullen ook aanwezig zijn in staten waar mogelijk verwarring bestaat over de vereisten voor kiezersidentificatie. Stemopnemers zullen informatie verstrekken, problemen oplossen en misstanden melden aan onze teams, zodat ze deze samen met de verkiezingsfunctionarissen kunnen oplossen. Het is deze inspanning die ons werk om het hele jaar door een sterke hervorming van het stemrecht te bevorderen, mogelijk maakt: we signaleren patronen of praktijken tijdens de verkiezingen, brengen problemen onder de aandacht van verkiezingsfunctionarissen en -bestuurders en werken met hen samen om tot gezonde oplossingen te komen.
