Voters Win with No Mid-Decade Redistricting
Despite the threats and bullying coming from out-of-state interests, state senators are listening to the Hoosiers they represent by rejecting mid-decade redistricting.
Common Cause Indiana is releasing the following statement in response to the office of Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray telling the media the votes are not there for mid-decade redistricting for a December session.
“Despite the threats and bullying coming from out-of-state interests, state senators are listening to the Hoosiers they represent by rejecting mid-decade redistricting. Thank you to our senators for standing up for Hoosiers and for doing what is right,” said Common Cause Indiana Executive Director Julia Vaughn.
Both state and national polling show mid-decade redistricting is broadly unpopular with Americans, including Republicans and 2024 Trump voters.
