Braun’s Bullying Won’t Intimidate Hoosiers
Common Cause Indiana is encouraging state lawmakers to stand strong for the people by rejecting the bullying from Washington, D.C. in the upcoming special session Gov. Braun called today.
“Hoosiers want their leaders to listen to them, not the loudest in Washington, D.C.’s beltway,” said Common Cause Indiana Executive Director Julia Vaughn. “Hoosiers have serious concerns they are facing due to the actions of Washington D.C. politicians right now, and drawing maps isn’t a priority for Indiana families. We are urging lawmakers to reject the bullying of Trump and Braun and end the session with no new maps.”
For months, Hoosiers have soundly rejected the idea of mid-decade redistricting, dropping tens of thousands of petition signatures, calling their legislators, and showing strong opposition in multiple public polls.
Both state and national polling show mid-decade redistricting is broadly unpopular with Americans, including Republicans and 2024 Trump voters.
