But we\u2019re closer to that than you might think \u2014 18 states and the District of Columbia have already signed on, providing\u00a0209 electoral votes of the needed 270.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nActivating the National Popular Vote compact<\/a>\u00a0would reshape\u00a0our democracy for the better.
