Legislative Advocacy

Common Cause Florida is on the ground in Tallahassee advocating for policies that ensure political participation and government accountability.

The 2026 Legislative Session will begin on January 13, 2026 and end on March 13, 2026.

But the legislative process starts much sooner! Bills are already being filed and Interim Committee Meetings will begin the week of October 6, 2025.

Legislative Delegations are meeting NOW in counties across Florida. These delegation meetings are open to the public and provide a key opportunity for voters to let their representatives know what issues they care about.

This resource from our partners at Progress Florida is a great tool to find out when your county’s Legislative Delegation Meeting is happening and find guidance if you’d like to make a statement. Note, you may need to register in advance if you want to speak!

Coming Soon: Check back here for more information on what we’ll be watching for the 2026 Legislative Session!

LOG YOUR CALL: Don’t Rig Florida’s Maps

Governor DeSantis and other state leaders are proposing to re-draw Florida’s voting maps before the 2026 midterms. We need to tell our representatives loud and clear: Don’t cheat. Don’t break the law. Don’t redraw the maps in the middle of the decade.
