All new and existing voters would have their records checked in error-prone government databases.\r\n\r\nIf the database doesn\u2019t have the correct documentation on file for you, you would have to submit specific evidence to prove your citizenship in order to vote \u2013 even if you\u2019ve been voting for years.\r\n\r\nIt is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in Florida, and the consequences of doing so are extremely harsh. That is NOT what these bills are really about.
