Common Cause Florida Executive Director Amy Keith issued the following statement in response to a majority of the Indiana Senate Republican caucus voting against mid-decade redistricting this week.

“Indiana Republicans’ rejection of mid-decade redistricting is a shining example Florida legislators should follow,” said Amy Keith, Common Cause Florida Executive Director. “Republican and independent voters in both states have made it clear they reject mid-decade redistricting. Florida legislators should follow Indiana legislators’ lead in listening to their constituents and ending the mid-decade redistricting conversation.”

Polling shows Floridians oppose both mid-decade redistricting and partisan gerrymandering — including a plurality of Trump voters.
