What is becoming clearer\u00a0each day is\u00a0President Trump\u2019s\u00a0intent to\u00a0use this chaos\u00a0to create a crisis for our democracy,\u201d said Common Cause President Karen Hobert Flynn. \u201cThe disproportionate impact on Black,\u00a0Indigenous,\u00a0Latinx, and Asian communities are not unique to this illness and every economic downturn impacts\u00a0these communities hardest. These outcomes are the consequences of political decisions made by people we entrusted with power. What is different this time is the failures\u00a0come after\u00a0Trump\u2019s\u00a0Administration has destabilized long-standing global alliances abroad and undermined\u00a0our democracy at home,\u201d Hobert Flynn added.\r\n\r\n\u201cWe know the government can do better.\u00a0Other governments\u00a0around the world\u00a0are doing a much better job than our own\u00a0handling this pandemic.\u00a0Trump\u2019s decision to politicize everything, including public health guidance,\u00a0sets us apart from the world,\u201d\u00a0said Paul Seamus Ryan,\u00a0Common Cause Vice President\u00a0for\u00a0Policy and Litigation.\u00a0\u201cNovember\u2019s\u00a0elections are the opportunity for Americans to hold government accountable.\u00a0Trump and his allies are working to suppress votes\u00a0by\u00a0opposing\u00a0expanded\u00a0vote by mail.
