There were a number of extremely close municipal elections earlier this month. At least three will be subject to recounts in the coming week: Lawrence mayoral election, Amesbury mayoral election, and Palmer casino approval question.<\/p>

Recounts are open to the public and are a great way to see the nitty gritty of our elections and democracy firsthand. Below are details for all of the upcoming election recounts. (Please let me know if there are others and I will add them to the list.)<\/p>

Lawrence mayor<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>

When: Saturday, November 23 at 10 a.m.<\/p>

Where: South Lawrence East School<\/p>

Contacto: Lawrence Elections Division<\/a><\/p>

Initial results had City Councilor Daniel Rivera beating incumbent Mayor William Lantigua<\/a> by 58 votes, out of more than 15,000 cast.<\/p>

Amesbury mayor<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>

When: Thursday, November 21 at 9 a.m.<\/p>

Where: City Hall Auditorium<\/p>

Contacto: Amesbury City Clerk <\/a><\/p>

Initial results had incumbent Mayor Thatcher Kezer losing to Ken Gray<\/a> by only two votes, out of 4,182 cast.<\/p>

<\/span><\/p>

When: Tuesday, November 26 at 9 a.m.<\/p>

Where: Palmer Library Community Room<\/p>

Contacto: Palmer Town Clerk<\/a><\/p>

Initial results had the casino measure defeated by a margin of 93 votes, out of 5221 cast.<\/p>
