If you don\u2019t know the name \u201cNick Fuentes\u201d \u2013 you should. <\/p>

He\u2019s an open white nationalist and a rising Gen-Z voice on the extreme right. He calls Adolf Hitler \u201creally f*****g cool,\u201d claims that life was better for Black Americans under Jim Crow, and doesn't think that women should have the right to vote. [1] <\/p>

And now, he\u2019s gearing up to shape the Republican Party and influence the 2026 midterm elections.<\/strong> He\u2019s bragging about using his nonprofit called the America First Foundation to \u201cinfiltrate politics\u201d and steer votes in the 2026 midterms. [2] <\/p>

This is exactly the kind of activity our Federal Elections Commission (FEC) should be watching like a hawk. They\u2019re the agency responsible for enforcing our campaign finance laws, which Common Cause led the fight to establish back in the 1970s. <\/p>

But with four of its six seats vacant right now, the FEC is effectively powerless. [3]  <\/p>

Without a quorum, they can\u2019t hold even the simplest vote \u2013 which means no investigations into who is influencing our elections<\/strong>, and no consequences when big money donors break the rules. <\/p>

That\u2019s right. Bad actors like Nick Fuentes, foreign autocrats, and tech billionaires are free to game our elections and pour unlimited money into extremist candidates \u2013 without any oversight. <\/p>
