NEW YORK CITY– Today, Common Cause released a new billboard in New York City’s Times Square calling out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) recent vote in support of the Trump-Musk funding bill. This dangerous stopgap spending bill endangers critical government programs like Medicare and Medicaid, and it doesn’t provide any guardrails to protect against Musk’s illegal government takeover.  

“As Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Schumer had the opportunity to rally Democrats and fight back against the dangerous Trump-Musk agenda. Instead, he sold the American people out,” said Virginia Kase Solomon, presidenta y directora ejecutiva de Common Cause. “We’re holding Sen. Schumer accountable in his own backyard by asking him what everyone else is thinking — wtf Chuck?” 

Common Cause members made 18,317 calls to members of Congress urging them to vote against the Trump-Musk funding bill.
