Common Cause Delaware is announcing the launch of an independent, nonpartisan effort to ensure that every eligible voter can vote safely and smoothly in the First State. 

Violations of the public trust are very serious offenses in a democracy. We trust the court will impose the sentence that is deserved in this case. And we know that Common Cause Delaware will continue working to strengthen ethics laws, until they are as clear and tough as they need to be.

The bill will allow all Delaware voters to request a mail-in ballot, so they can vote safely from the comfort of their own homes, if they so choose. This adds another option for voters, who can also vote at their polling place on election day or cast their ballots early at one of the early voting locations.

"This is a huge step forward for voters. In a state where 12% of the population moves every year, voter registration will no longer be a barrier to casting our ballots."

The bill now heads to the House for consideration. If enacted into law, it will be effective for the September primary elections.
