Failure to enact the already negotiated, bipartisan measure would trigger a devastating government shutdown, undermining critical public services and the livelihoods of millions of American families.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nEarlier this week, lawmakers reached a bipartisan agreement to fund the government through next March, including essential disaster relief programs. However, billionaire Elon Musk\u2019s recent barrage of over 100 misleading social media posts derailed this agreement. Common Cause calls on our elected officials to reject Elon Musk\u2019s intervention and uphold the deal that prioritizes the well-being of all Americans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n\u201cElon Musk is not a member of Congress and should not have the power to shut down our government.
