Democracy reform leaders including Common Cause President Karen Hobert Flynn also were on the program.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">You can watch Karen's remarks here:<\/p><p><iframe frameborder=\"0\" height=\"476\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fsbswenson%2Fvideos%2F10155718018392798%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=267\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" width=\"267\"><\/iframe><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted wants the high court&rsquo;s blessing for a purging program that gives non-voters only one warning -- and makes no effort to verify if it was received -- before initiating a process to to remove them from the rolls. When a voter misses an election, Husted&rsquo;s office sends a &ldquo;confirmation letter&rdquo; to his\/her address to verify their residence. If the voter doesn&rsquo;t return the letter and doesn&rsquo;t vote for the next four years, he\/she is purged.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">The plaintiffs and their supporters, including Common Cause, contend the Ohio&rsquo;s policy violates the National Voter Registration Act.<\/p>"}}]},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.6 (Yoast SEO v27.1.1) -
