Safeguarding Elections and Fighting for Voters

Colorado Common Cause works to ensure that every eligible voter in our state has the tools to register to vote and cast a ballot.

Generations of Americans have fought and died for our right to vote.

The right to vote and have our voices heard is fundamental to our democracy. Colorado Common Cause helps voters across the state navigate the voting process and cast their ballot without obstruction, confusion, or intimidation. In 2024, our nonpartisan election protection efforts included:

  • Deploying over 300 volunteers to monitor the polls, report issues and assist voters. Our volunteers covered 62 Colorado cities, 8 college campuses, and hundreds of polling locations.
  • Training attorneys to answer the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline, fielding over 600 calls from Colorado voters, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Just Vote Colorado coalition
  • Creating bilingual voter education materials in English and Spanish to reach hundreds of thousands of voters
  • Leading our coalition partners to respond in coordination to widespread disinformation, administration problems, reports of voter intimidation, and more
  • Training volunteers and partner organizations on election protection, disinformation, political violence and de-escalation

Above all, we inform voters of their rights, help elections officials handle problems in real time, and notify attorneys when the situation warrants legal intervention.

Your financial support helps us make an impact by holding power accountable and strengthening democracy.
