Champions for Democracy

Ironton Distillery

3636 Chestnut Place, Denver

September 20, 5:30pm – 8:30pm

Colorado Common Cause is a nonpartisan, nonprofit that has been working to safeguard our voting rights, hold elected officials accountable, and ensure that we all have a voice in our government since 1971. As attacks against democracy continue across the country, it is clear that our work now is as important as it ever was.

In 2022 we helped pass legislation that will make voting safer for voters and election workers and keep our election system secure from all threats, including internal ones. We also fought off a slate of anti-voter bills that would have tarnished our state’s gold-standard election system and helped prevent a potentially disastrous Article V constitutional convention.

To celebrate our work in 2022 and to build momentum for fall 2022 we are hosting our annual Champions for Democracy celebration from 5:30pm to 8:30pm on Tuesday, September 20th 2022 at Ironton Distillery in Denver. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and we are thrilled to be hosting the event in person! The event will bring together our statewide members to recognize community leaders who have advanced pro-democracy work over the last year. Will you help celebrate out achievements and propel our work into 2023?

This year our Keynote Speaker is Amber McReynolds. Amber has spent her career fighting for democracy and she is a leading expert on election administration and policy. In 2013, Amber and Colorado Common Cause worked together to pass the 2013 election reform legislation that modernized voter registration and gave voters convenient options to cast their ballots in-person or by mail. She serves on the National Election Task Force on Election Crises, the National Council on Election Integrity, and was recently appointed by President Biden and confirmed by the US Senate as a member of the USPS Board of Governors.

In-Person Event Information:

We are planning to host this event in-person without a virtual option. Colorado Common Cause will be in compliance with all local, state, and federal mandates and will abide by CDC guidelines throughout the event. If circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic mean we are unable to safely hold this event in-person, we will move to a virtual experience.
