Colorado Common Cause outreach director Caroline Fry explains how a citizenship question on the 2020 Census would negatively impact all Coloradans - including single parents.

“We’ve worked really hard to establish meaningful contribution limits in order to make sure that Coloradans’ voices are heard in elections— not just the wealthy and special interests,” said Caroline Fry, outreach director for Colorado Common Cause. “We want to work to further improve our campaign finance system, not walk those limits back. It’s a large jump.”

“The whole reason for transparency is to allow people to engage in government and, if needed, to hold it accountable,” said Amanda Gonzalez, executive director of Colorado Common Cause. “When processes are happening in secret, and the courts are helping them remain secret, there is no way for the public to know what’s happening, and that’s problematic.”
