The program features nonpartisan poll monitors stationed in three Southern California counties, including those with Department of Justice monitors, in addition to its bilingual hotline available to all California voters as they navigate the election process.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cVoters should make their voices heard in this year\u2019s special election, which will have unprecedented national consequences,\u201d said <\/span><b>Darius Kemp, Executive Director of California Common Cause<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cThat\u2019s why our friendly, nonpartisan experts and volunteers are available to help voters navigate the process. We encourage all voters to add 866-OUR-VOTE into their phones so they can call or text if they run into any issues.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voters who encounter any issues can <\/span><b>call or text the hotline<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to connect with experts who can help. Common Cause recommends voting early and tracking your ballot through <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sos.ca.gov\/elections\/ballot-status\/wheres-my-ballot\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where\u2019s My Ballot?<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">California offers same-day voter registration, so if someone needs to register or update their registration, they are still able to make their voices heard on Election Day at their polling place or vote center.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Polling locations will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Any voter in line to vote at 8 p.m. must be allowed to vote.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Common Cause\u2019s program is part of a national, nonpartisan voter assistance effort, coordinated by a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/866ourvote.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">coalition of over 100 sponsoring organizations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, that began in 2000 after the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bush v. Gore<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> voting confusion.
