Until ICE Out and Noem Gone, Not Another Penny for ICE
Backed by their members in every single congressional district, Common Cause is reiterating “not one more penny” for ICE in addition to other changes for the out-of-control agency.
These are the following changes Common Cause is demanding:
- A moratorium on all ICE surge operations in our communities, not just Minnesota.
- The unconditional cooperation of the federal government with the local law enforcement agencies who are investigating the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and other uses of force.
- Resignation or presidential firing of top DHS leadership, including Kristi Noem.
- أ comprehensive Congressional investigation into federal immigration enforcement’s use of force and a NO vote on the upcoming DHS funding bill.
“A no vote on continued funding for the Department of Homeland Security and ICE is the bare minimum the people are demanding in this moment,” said Virginia Káse Solomon, Common Cause President and CEO. “We must have leadership change at DHS, independent investigations into the Trump administration’s killing of two U.S. citizens and other serious abuses, and the immediate removal of ICE from our communities until these changes occur.”
On Wednesday, Common Cause and other civil rights groups will hold a virtual press conference to speak more to these new demands. You can register on Zoom here.
