Arizona
This part-time internship is a hybrid role located in Phoenix, AZ, and will be 15–20 hours per week. You will report to the Program Director, Arizona.
Common Cause is seeking an intern to work with our Arizona team elating to voting and elections policy, voter education, membership organizing, and preparing for the 2026 midterm elections . In this role you will assist with advocacy campaigns, grassroots engagement, research, policy development, communications, and/or member outreach and events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a commitment to a fair and transparent democracy, and who is interested in learning more about government affairs and the legislative process.

- Volunteer organizing and engagement, including community events, phonebanks, and letter-writing campaigns
- Supporting mobilization efforts around legislative developments
- Drafting communications to volunteers and supporters (emails, action alerts, and recruitment messages)
- Tracking and summarizing committee hearings, floor debates, and key bills
- Assisting with coalition meetings to better understand the political landscape

This part-time internship is located in California and will be 10–20 hours per week. You will report to the Senior Manager, Operations & Development.
Common Cause is seeking interns to work with our California team relating to voting and elections, redistricting, and democracy reform. In this role you will assist with advocacy campaigns, grassroots engagement, research, policy development, communications, and/or member outreach and events. Colorado
This part-time internship is located in Colorado (with a preference for someone who can easily travel to our Denver office and the State Capitol) and will be 15 hours per week. You will report to the State Director, Colorado.
Common Cause is seeking an intern to work with our Colorado team; Colorado will be focused on advancing a pro-democracy agenda at the state legislature, while gearing up for the 2026 election, with goals relating to voter education and voter protection. Lastly, the team will be running a new leadership development program to bring a small group of participants through educational trainings and advocacy activities, such as writing opinion media or giving public testimony at the Capitol.
The interns will assist with grassroots campus engagement, email outreach, event planning, developing written materials and trainings, and social media. This part-time internship is a hybrid role located in Atlanta, GA and will be 15 hours per week. You will report to the Policy Director, Georgia.
Common Cause is seeking an intern to work with our teams in Georgia relating to voting and elections, redistricting, and democracy reform. In this role you will assist with research, advocacy, policy development, outreach, and engagement during the 2026 legislative session. Individuals with keen interest in government affairs and the legislative process, a can-do attitude, and a commitment to building a fair, inclusive, and transparent democracy are highly encouraged to apply.

- Assist with bill tracking, research and analysis of legislation, and drafting written testimony. Help produce public education materials, including one-pagers and factsheets.
- Support ongoing redistricting and fair elections campaigns, specifically helping to monitor legislative redistricting and small donor public financing programs currently in use at the local level
- Assist with implementing grassroots strategy in support of priority legislation utilizing social media, communication through email and text action alerts, and direct outreach to members and supporters.

Common Cause Minnesota is seeking a passionate, creative, and community-rooted intern to support our digital organizing efforts. This intern will play a key role in amplifying our democracy work across social media platforms and engaging our base through compelling digital content.

- Content Creation: Design and draft engaging posts for Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, and reflecting our campaigns, values, and community stories.
- Scheduling & Strategy: Use our tools to schedule posts, track engagement, and optimize timing for audience reach.
- Newsletter Support: Assist in drafting short, action-oriented content and visuals for our e-newsletter, helping mobilize our base around voting rights, redistricting reform, and civic engagement.
- Community Engagement: Monitor comments and messages, uplift community voices, and help grow our digital presence.
