Role: Research Intern (NE)
Location: Remote within Nebraska
Start Date: Monday, September 18th
Reports to: Executive Director (NE)
Details: This is a part-time internship (15 hours/week), starting Monday, September 18th and ending Thursday, November 30th
Essential functions: Common Cause Nebraska is seeking an intern who will assist with and learn about our research and communications work. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a commitment to a fair and transparent democracy, and who is interested in learning more about government affairs and the legislative process.
Skills you will build and work you will be involved in
The intern will:
- Assist the Executive Director in researching and organizing data related to Nebraska campaign finance contributions
- Create materials related to campaign finance research for the public and policymakers
- Aid in outreach to Nebraska Common Cause members
- Build skills in effective research and strong external communications; learn about campaign finance reform
Qualifications
You will be a good fit for this internship if you have:
- A passion for learning about elections, government affairs, and the legislative process
- A desire and an ability to work in a non-partisan manner
- A willingness to build your organizational skills and attention to detail
- A willingness to build your writing and listening skills
- A willingness to learn new skills
Compensation: $2,805 for the 11 weeks paid in 5 equal twice monthly payments on the 15th and last day of the month.
Classification: This position is classified as temporary and therefore not included in the union-represented collective bargaining unit.
