My admiration for John Gardner's political and personal integrity and his visionary articulation of things as they should be in government brought me to Common Cause when he first founded it in 1970. What has kept me involved is the continued strong commitment to that mission by Common Cause's leaders and members. Key Common Cause issues for me are money in politics and elections and voting. Common Cause and the League of Women Voters are natural allies on good government issues and should find new ways to work together as effectively as possible on them, thereby strengthening both communities of activists.
