I was living in DC when I first joined CC. Prior to moving to Bainbridge in 1976, I was the Tuesday night volunteer coordinator. Having worked for 15 years for the "Feds," mostly with the Department of State overseas, I always try to be as non-partisan as possible. That's why I like CC: It concentrates on issues and avoids name calling. At a luncheon for volunteers, I remember John Gardner saying something to the effect that "apathy is our greatest enemy." I truly believe that.
