Voting and Elections

Texas is perpetually ranked near the bottom among all states when it comes to participation in elections and civic engagement. Working to reverse those trends is our top priority.

During the legislative session we’ll work to get legislation passed that will address online voter registration, voting machine modernization, increased civic education for high school students and creation of an independent redistricting commission. And we’ll fight any and all attempt to limit to curb voting rights – including new Voter ID laws.

Recognizing that the odds are against us in the legislature – we’ll also be launching our own campaign designed to help Texans understand the importance of civic engagement and voting and also to train them in how to effectively engage with their elected officials.
