Ethics

Common Cause has been a leading force for ethical government since its founding. After passing landmark ethics reforms in the 1970s that opened up government to the public and shut down blatant corruption, the organization has continued to provide strong leadership in this area ever since.

Here in Oregon, Common Cause won key measures at the state legislature and the ballot that established Oregon's ethics commission, open meetings laws and laws on conflict of interest and lobbying disclosure, and continues to serve as a watchdog and reformer for ethical government.

Stay tuned for new ethics reform challenges in Oregon. And in the meantime, check out important national reforms here.
