Shaw University & Saint Augustine’s University unite for March to the Polls in Raleigh

They might be rivals on the football field, but Shaw University and Saint Augustine’s University teamed up today for an important cause: voting.

On Thursday, students from these two historically Black universities in Raleigh held a joint March to the Polls event, walking from Shaw University’s campus to the early voting site at Chavis Community Center to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Our Common Cause NC team is working at all 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in North Carolina to help the state’s 40,000 HBCU students fully participate in this year’s election.

As part of our nonpartisan voter engagement efforts, we’re distributing more than 1 million copies of our voter guides to North Carolinians across the state. And our online 2022 NC Voter Guide provides North Carolinians with an interactive look at that candidates on their personalized ballot, along with important information on casting a vote.

Early voting for North Carolina’s 2022 election runs until Saturday, Nov. 5. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

We encourage all North Carolina voters to get informed, get engaged and go vote this election!
